Selection Guide
This guide helps friendly_advisor buyers organize the data needed for stepper, AlphaStep, brushless and AC motor requests.
Estimate reflected load inertia, payload mass, friction and orientation. Vertical loads need brake and holding torque review.
Record target rpm, move distance, cycle time and acceleration window. These numbers determine torque-speed margin.
Decide whether simple pulses, speed control, alarm outputs, position monitoring or networked control are needed.
List voltage, ambient temperature, dust, splash exposure, IP rating and cooling limits around the motor and driver.
Document cables, spare drivers, parameter files and replacement access so maintenance can repeat the setup.
Do not worry if every number is not ready. Even approximate payload mass, desired move time and available voltage can narrow the first decision. The goal is to show which unknowns control risk, then turn those unknowns into a short test or measurement before hardware is ordered.
MEXE02 is a setup and support environment used to configure compatible motor drivers, copy parameters, review alarms, set move tables and support trial operation. Treat it as part of the commissioning record. Save the parameter file, note driver and motor pairing, record I/O assignments and document recovery steps for the maintenance team.
For replacement planning, the most useful handover is a short file package: selected motor family, driver reference, power supply, wiring notes, move table settings, alarm history check and approved parameter backup. That makes a future spare replacement much faster and safer. Add the file location, responsible engineer and last validated machine revision so a plant technician can find the record during a night-shift support call.
Send the worksheet details and we will map the motor family, driver and documentation path.
